CHELSEA have sacked manager Roberto Di Matteo.

The Blues boss, 42, was under increasing pressure going into last night’s make-or-break Champions League group game with Juventus.
And the 3-0 defeat in Italy proved to be the last straw for ruthless owner Roman Abramovich, who axed Di Matteo despite the Italian guiding the club to glory in the FA Cup and Europe last season.
An official statement said: “The team’s recent performances and results have not been good enough.
“The owner and the board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season.
