Britney Spears And Jason Trawick Break Up

Just hours after announcing her exit from the judging panel on "X Factor," Britney Spears has announced another split: her breakup with talent agent-turned-fiancé Jason Trawick.
Spears' rep Jeff Raymond confirmed the news in a statement to People, which read: "Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement. As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."
While happily ever after isn't in the duo's future, Spears told the magazine she'll "always adore" Trawick and intends to "remain great friends." Trawick echoed similar sentiments, saying, "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."
TMZ broke the news Friday evening (January 11), reporting that the duo simply "grew apart." Several sources close to the website revealed that Trawick did not want to announce the news until after he was taken off Spears' longtime conservatorship. In an interesting turn of events, the pop superstar also left Trawick's William Morris Agency in favor of Creative Artists Agency.
After years of working together, Spears and Trawick turned their professional relationship into a romantic one when they began dating in early 2009. Shortly after, the couple severed professional ties as Trawick stepped down as her WMA talent representative. Since then, the couple have remained fairly private — at least until their onscreen bed romp for the singer's "Criminal" clip and their engagement announcement in December 2011. And even though he wasn't representing the star, Trawick took on an another role in April 2012, when he was granted a role as co-conservator alongside her dad, Jamie Spears.

Trawick may have foreshadowed the news in a message he tweeted Thursday night: "I'm still alive. Been traveling to c family in ny and friends in Miami for the BSC bowl. Hope u are all well."
