Pep Guardiola wants Man Utd job

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is hoping the former Barcelona chief will take over at Stamford Bridge next summer.
But Guardiola, who is on a year’s sabbatical in New York, fancies moving in at Old Trafford when Alex Ferguson retires.
That could be at the end of this season.
If not, Guardiola would be prepared to hold out for another year.
Fergie and Guardiola are close friends and have met privately in New York.
A source close to Guardiola said: “The whole history of Manchester United, his relationship with Sir Alex and the way the club is run appeals to Pep.
“Right now I’d be astonished if he went to Chelsea. He really wants to wait for the United job even if it means extending his time out of the game.”
Guardiola wants to be able to concentrate on all aspects of the football club without interference from above.
Red Rom’s constant hiring and firing of managers — interim chief Rafa Benitez is his ninth boss in a decade — does not appeal.

Pakistan suspends mobile networks over fears of attacks

Pakistan's authorities are suspending mobile phone services in major cities to prevent sectarian violence during key Shia Muslim commemorations.

More than 90% of bombs are detonated by attackers using phones, officials say.
In some areas, motorbikes carrying passengers have been banned because of fears that this is how attackers could be brought to their targets.
Attacks on minority Shia by hard-line Sunnis have increased in recent months across Pakistan.
In the deadliest attack this week, 23 people were killed at a Shia procession in the city of Rawalpindi.
Aerial surveillance On Friday, mobile phone services were temporarily blocked in parts of the capital Islamabad, the southern port city of Karachi, and in Quetta in the south-east.
The authorities said that more areas would be cut off over the weekend - the climax of the holy month of Muharram for Shias.
"More than 90% of bomb blasts have been carried out through mobile sims," Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik told reporters.
"Most recently, all the blasts that occurred in the last 15 days were mobile phone-based," he added.
Thousands of extra police are also being deployed and aerial surveillance will be carried out to monitor Shia processions across the country.
Muharram marks the anniversary of the battle where the grandson of the Prophet Mohammad was killed.

50 Cent turns waiter for Sandy

The rapper 50 Cent brought a little holiday cheer and Thanksgiving food to New Yorkers hit hard by Superstorm Sandy.

Curtis Jackson, who goes by the name 50 Cent, grew up in South Jamaica, Queens, lent a hand to feed Sandy victims at the Our Table is Yours event at the Cipriani Restaurant in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday.

"Having Sandy hit New York -- you wanna get out and make sure everybody understands that you care about it," he said.

The event provided meals to more than 1,000 New Yorkers impacted by Superstorm Sandy and was a collaborative effort between Food Bank for New York City, Feeding America, the Food Network, the Cooking Channel and Southern Wine and Spirits of America.
