Michael Clarke Duncan Dead At 54

Oscar-nominated 'Green Mile' actor died in a Los Angeles hospital on Monday.

Michael Clarke Duncan died on Monday (September 3) in Los Angeles. The Oscar-nominated actor succumbed to complications sustained after a heart attack in July.
Duncan's publicist, Joy Fehily, released a statement from Clarke's fiancée, reality star Omarosa Manigault, confirming that the 54-year-old actor died in an L.A.-area hospital, according to the Wrap. The "Green Mile" actor's death came after nearly two months of treatment in the wake of his cardiac arrest earlier this summer.
News of Duncan's death broke on Labor Day afternoon, and "RIP Michael Clarke Duncan" and "Green Mile" instantly became Twitter trending topics as numerous fans expressed their sadness upon learning the news.
The Chicago-born actor is perhaps best-known for his portrayal of gentle giant/ mystic healer John Coffey in 1999's "The Green Mile," a critically praised performance for which he received an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. After his breakout role, Duncan parlayed his popularity into a string of memorable roles in films like "Sin City," "Planet of the Apes," "Armageddon, "The Whole Nine Yards" and "Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby."
When MTV News caught up with him a few years ago, the actor expressed interest in making "Sin City 2" — if it ever got off the ground.
"I'd love to come back as Manute," he said in 2009. Working with Robert Rodriquez was really cool. He's the type of director that goes around playing his guitar all day, he doesn't holler, he doesn't fuss, he doesn't fight. He's a real mellow director."
More recently, Duncan voiced the character of Kilowog in 2011's "Green Lantern."

Militant Islamists in northern Mali are accused of committing war crimes

Militant Islamist rebels have seized the strategic central Malian town of Douentza, extending the area they control in the north of the country.

Witnesses said fighters of the Movement for Unity and Jihad group took the town after a brief stand-off with the local self-defence militia.

The move brings the militants closer to the government-held south-west.
The militants overran all of northern Mali after a military coup threw the country into turmoil in March.
Residents of Douentza, about 800km (500 miles) north-east of the capital Bamako, said a convoy of pick-up vehicles carrying bearded men entered the town early on Saturday.

Islamist leader Oumar Ould Hamaha told the Associated Press news agency that the attackers had encircled the town and asked the local militiamen to surrender.
"They tried to make phone calls to ask for reinforcements, but when they saw that no-one was coming to help them they laid down their arms," he said.
Residents said some of the militia's members had fled, while others were now were being held by the Islamists.

Huyo hakuwa mke wake wa kwanza kwani mke wake wa awali naye alikufa katika mazingira yasiyoeleweka miaka kadhaa iliyopita.

National Enquirer limedai kuwa muigizaji huyo alikuwa akiishi maisha duni kabla ya kukutana na mwanamke huyo mfanyabishara aliyebadilisha maisha yake.

Inadaiwa kuwa baada ya kifo cha mke wake aliyezaa naye watoto wawili wa kiume, alijikuta katika maisha magumu kiasi cha kukosa hata hela kununua chakula na ndipo alipokutana na mwanamke huyo aliyemwimbisha na kueleweka hasa kutokana na sura yake kuwa maarufu kwenye filamu.

Ripoti inasema kuwa baada ya kuishi pamoja na kuoana na mwanamke huyo, Rich alianza kulalamika baada ya mkewe kushindwa kushika mimba.

Inaendelea kudai kuwa mke wake alimwamini na kumfanya awe mmiliki wa baadhi ya mali zake na kuwa mwamuzi wa mambo ya kifedha kwenye kampuni yake.

Baadaye Rich aliingiwa na tamaa na kuanza kuwa na uhusiano na msichana mdogo aitwaye Iyake.

Ilikuja kugundulika kuwa mke wake anashindwa kupata mimba kwasababu alikuwa akisimbuliwa na tatizo la Fibroid.

Rich anadaiwa kumshawishi mke wake akafanyiwe upasuaji wa kuondoa tatizo naye akakubali.

Ripoti inasema mke wake alifariki muda mfupi baada ya upasuaji huo kwa madai kuwa Rich alimtembelea hospitali na kumpa kidonge bila ruhusa ya daktari kwa kudai kuwa kidonge hicho kingempunguzia maumivu bila kujua kuwa ilikuwa sumu.

Baada ya daktari kubaini kuwa mikono yake ilikuwa salama aliagiza kufanyike uchunguzi kwa mwili wa mwanamke huyo na ukabaini kuwa alipewa sumu.

Sumu hiyo ilionesha kuwekwa katika muda ambao mume wake alikuwa amekwenda kumsalimia kabla ya kufariki mke wake.

Muigizaji huyo alikuja kukiri kumuua mke wake baada ya kupokea mateso makali kutoka kwa polisi.

Hivi sasa Rich anashikiliwa kwenye kituo cha polisi mjini Abuja wakati mwili wa mke wake ukiwa mortuary.
