Couples who are faithful are more fertile than those who stray.

Couples who stay true to each other are more fertile than those who stray,
new research has found.

Scientists have discovered that those who remain faithful produce 25 per cent more offspring.
Monogamy is relatively rare among mammals, but the study, of owl monkeys in Argentina, has highlighted how important having just one mate can be.

The wide-eyed nocturnal monkeys are considered a socially monogamous species, but scientists found when a new mate usurps one of the pair, there are fewer newborns than with pairs that stay together.
It's thought the birth rate difference could be down to the time it takes for new pairs to get to know one another.

Associate Professor Eduardo Fernandez-Duque of the University of Pennsylvania said monogamous relationships have played an important role in human evolution and helped increase the species.

He said: 'Call it love, call it friendship, call it marriage, there is something in our biology that leads to this enduring, emotional bond between two individuals that is widespread among human societies.
'Monogamy makes sense for these primates, because the male who sticks to a female is certain about the paternity of the young, and so he invests in their care.'
One theory is that a woman's fertility might be increased because having a steady partner 'reduces the burden of pregnancy and lactation'.
Professor Fernandez-Duque and his team have monitored an owl monkey population in the Argentinian Chaco region observing behaviour, changes in pairings and rates of birth over 16 years.

The team observed 18 owl monkey groups totalling 154 animals.

The primates live in monogamous groups consisting of an adult male, an adult female and their offspring, with juveniles leaving the group around the age of three or four.

However in 2008 they noted a so-called 'floater' individual, which attacked the male in a pair and essentially replaced him as a mate and infant-care provider.
The study found this usurping of mates by both male and female 'floaters' is a common occurrence.

The replacements often involved dramatic fights, some of which ended fatally for the evicted individual.
But having a partner evicted harms the reproductive success of the remaining mate.
Owl monkeys with one partner produced a quarter more offspring per decade than those with two or more partners.
Professor Fernandez-Duque said: 'What we're showing is that if you manage to stay with the same partner you produce more infants than if you're forced to change partners.'
Although the drop in fertility is unclear it could be due to a delay in reproduction as female owl monkeys typically only conceive between March and May.

He suggested the delay could be down to the new pair taking time to assess one another before reproducing.

Haya ndo maneno ya Nick Minaji kwa Mariah Carey kuhusiana na bifu lao.

That's some outfit: Nicki Minaj wore a garish Roberto Cavalli outfit for her performance on Jimmy Kimmel

'I wouldnt say I don't like her, I definitely don't think she likes me,' Nicki replied, adding that despite this, she makes a fair bit of effort to be friendly.
'I try, as I looked up to her for a long time, so I don't want to hate on this lady, but she had an issue from the beginning. We're having fun though.
'I genuinely like going there, even Mariah and I, we really do have fun.

Snorers are more likely to have a heart attack than smokers or the obese, say researchers.
Far from being merely a nuisance, snoring could be the early warning sign of life-threatening health problems, they warn.
US researchers believe that the condition may cause a thickening of the arteries which can lead to  brain haemorrhages, strokes and heart attacks.
Snorers are more likely to have thickening or abnormalities in the carotid artery that supplies the brain with oxygenated blood

Around a quarter of women and four in ten men are frequent snorers, although nearly half of us snore occasionally. Though it can interfere with our sleep – and that of our partners – it was not thought to cause any long-term health problems until recently.
American researchers claim the condition is as serious as having high blood pressure and urge snorers to seek medical advice.

A team from the University of Detroit found that frequent snorers are far more likely  to develop a thickening of the carotid artery - which supplies oxygenated blood to  the brain.
The condition has also been linked to hardening of other arteries in the body and can lead to heart attacks, strokes and brain haemorrhages.
Dr Robert Deeb, from the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, who led the research said: ‘Our study adds to the growing body of evidence suggesting isolated snoring may not be as benign as first suspected.
Changes in the carotid artery are a precursor a hardening of the arteries, which can cause heart attacks and brain haemorrhages (pictured)

‘So instead of kicking your snoring bed partner out of the room or spending sleepless nights elbowing him or her, seek out medical treatment for the snorer.’ Dr Deeb and his colleagues studied 54 men and women aged 18 to 50.
They had all filled in questionnaires about their snoring habits and then had ultrasound scans to look at the thickness of their carotid artery. The researchers found that the innermost layers of the artery walls were far thicker among the snorers than the other adults.
Dr Deeb added: ‘Snoring is generally regarded as a cosmetic issue by health insurance, requiring significant expenses by patients.
      quit smoking
‘We are hoping to change that thinking so patients can get the early treatment they need, before more serious health issues arise.’
He said that the thickening of the artery may be caused by the constant vibrations of the snoring which results in inflammation.
The researchers now hope to carry out a larger study to see if snorers are more likely to have heart attacks and strokes. Dr Deeb, who has submitted his findings to the Laryngoscope journal for publication, said: ‘Snoring is more than a bedtime annoyance and it shouldn’t be ignored.
‘Patients need to seek treatment in the same way they would if they had sleep apnoea, high blood pressure or other risk factors for cardiovascular disease.’
Last year researchers from the University of Wisconsin, in the US, said that snorers were more likely to die from cancer.
The study of 1,500 adults found that moderate snorers were at 4.8 times greater risk of death.

5O Cent azungumzia utata wa chain ya MMG kutokea kwenye video yake mpya.

From his unforgettable G-Unit spinner to his current Street King pendant, 50 Cent has a thing for flashy jewelry. Usually the outspoken rap star uses his chains to help brand his own camp, but in his latest video for "Major Distribution," there is a brief cameo from a Rick Ross-styled Maybach Music Group chain.
So how did a piece promoting Fif's biggest rival end up in the final cut?
"It came from a jeweler. Jewelers, they made it. Yeah, we got it and ended up putting it in the video," the G-Unit juggernaut explained Thursday. "That's what rappers do: Rappers put jewelry in videos."

Fif is right: Diamond encrusted jewels have long been a staple in most rap videos, but not when the piece belongs to someone you've gone through a much-publicized battle with. "I thought it would be unexpected, like when you see A$AP with a Death Row hat on. It's cool it's interesting. You look and say, 'Wait, something is out of place,' " 50 reasoned, referencing A$AP Rocky's "Long Live A$AP" music video, in which he sports a Death Row hat even though he has no business connection to the storied label.

It would've been easy to assume that the MMG chain was the same one that came up missing after the BET Hip Hop Awards scuffle between Gunplay and members of 50's G-Unit camp last year. Shortly after the incident, a viral video of 50 wearing the chain while bowling surfaced online.
The "I Get Money" MC didn't address that situation outright, chalking it all up to talk and blog fodder. "Rumors today, you can't believe everything you hear on the Internet," he said. "It's crazy."
Outside of the small controversy, 50's "Major Distribution" is a street-laced single from his upcoming Street King Immortal LP. The track features Snoop Dogg and Young Jeezy, whom 50 is collaborating with for the first time. "Jeezy, that was overdue. Me and Snoop had a relationship since '03," 50 Cent said last week. "Having him work on this project, it just fit. Perfect timing."

Women have to work harder than men to lose weight and get fit.

Women have to do a lot more exercise to get the same health benefits as men, in terms of both diet and fitness

It's bad news for women who work out with their partners.
Scientists have discovered that when it comes to the benefits of exercise, the odds appear to be firmly stacked against the fairer sex.
New research suggests that women have to do a lot more exercise to get the same health benefits as men, in terms of both diet and fitness.
Scientists at the University of Missouri who put obese men and women on the same fitness programme found men reaped significantly more benefits.
And experts are now warning that while exercise alone might be enough for men to lose weight, women must also address their diet to get the same results.
During the study, Professor Jill Kanaley and her colleagues looked at the heart rate and blood pressure of nearly 75 obese men and women with Type 2 diabetes.
They all followed a programme of aerobic (i.e. cardiovascular) exercise for 16 weeks. They all worked at an effort of 65 per cent, which was worked out based on each individual's ability.

Despite everyone exercising at relatively the same speed, the researchers found that men got far more benefit from the exercise than women.
Over the 16 weeks, women's recovery time did not improve, whereas men's did, indicating their fitness had improved. They also lost more weight.
Commenting on the study, Dr Chris Easton, a lecturer in clinical exercise psychology at the University of West Scotland, told MailOnline: 'This adds to a growing body of evidence that men and women respond to exercise in different ways.
'One main reason for this is body composition - men have a higher proportion of of muscle of women and muscle has a higher metabolic rate than fat.

'This is crucially important as it means that even when they are resting, men burn more calories than women. This indicates that women really have to look at their diet as well as exercise, whereas men may be able to get by on exercise alone.'
He said that go get the same effect as a man working at 65 per cent effort, a woman would effectively need to work at around 85 per cent effort - or work out for longer.
Experts are now warning that while exercise alone might be enough for men to lose weight, women also have to look at their diet to get the same results

Nicole Scherzinger says she wouldn't rule out Pussycat Dolls reunion.

      Nicole Scherzinger

In an interview with Kiss FM the X Factor judge confessed her true feelings about the sexy girl group that shot her to fame in 2005.
When asked if she would consider a Dolls revival she said: "I love the girls, I miss them, I wish them the best. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible sometime in the future."
However Nicole was quick to add that for now she is happy doing her own thing.

She added: "But right now I'm really excited for all the hard work I put into my music to get that out. It's all about the music, and getting that out there. I can't wait to tour again."
Nicole might be keen on a get-together but the other original Pussycats might not have the same heart-felt enthusiasm.
In November former bandmate Carmit Bachar told The Sun: “A Pussycat Dolls reunion isn’t out of the question.
"Five of us — and not Nicole — could happen. But all six? Never. Too much water under the bridge.”

Carmit also revealed that Nicole was so jealous of I'm A Celebrity... star Ashley Roberts when they were in the group that it tore them apart.
She said: "Nicole was jealous of Ashley. She felt threatened by her, like people would prefer her because of the way she looked. Ashley had that iconic American thing going on - blonde hair, blue eyes. It was the look Nicole seemed to want but could never have.
"No one could understand why Nicole was so jealous. She was an exotic beauty with a look that most girls would kill for."
